Horses in the Meadow Hand Towel

The original “Horses of the Prairie” hand towel captures the dynamic energy of horses galloping across the grasslands. Created in Izu, this design expresses respect and the bond we share with our long-time companions—the horses—that have walked alongside humans since ancient times. Meticulously dyed onto soft, 100% linen fabric, this horse pattern is versatile—perfect for wrapping, decorating, or wiping—and adds a touch of color to your daily life, no matter the season.

Our Commitment to Quality Ingredients
We use linen fabric carefully woven, one piece at a time, by artisans in Fujiyoshida. Crafted over time using the pure water and dry winds of the mountain foothills—while preserving the fabric’s natural texture—this linen offers excellent breathability and durability, and becomes more supple with each use.

About Indigo Dyeing
We create a dye bath by re-fermenting “sumi” (a raw material made by fermenting indigo leaves into a compost-like substance) using only lye made from hardwood ash and water, and dye the fabric using the traditional Japanese indigo dyeing method (Shō-ai-zome). Traditional Japanese indigo dyeing, which has been passed down continuously since ancient times, is characterized by its antibacterial, insect-repellent, and far-infrared properties; furthermore, when performed by skilled artisans, the fabric does not fade or bleed.
